The article I’ve just put together is about the personal insight on the topic of “Walk the Talk” and this is based on my personal experience insight & reflections.
Held the “Round Table Discussions & Heart Activation Music” group session on Friday, 9th September 2016 and it was really exciting and the feedback received was really beautiful as always. A few new people came to the group which is always wonderful and when it came to the ‘feedback’ section of the evening, one of them shared her experience, saying that she’s now only opening up to this stuff and we were all left in amazement. The sound of… “WOW” was heard by everyone.
I really wanted to experiment with a specific technique, an idea that Amy gave me to help people meet their spirit guides and have been sitting with it for the past few weeks. Well, as the paragraph above said. It worked so well that I’m left going… “WOW” too!
I truly love these sessions because they’re so real & genuine. Amy & I work so well together when we give a discussion to start off the night but it is only ever possible because of what every one else brings to the group. Everyone is sharing their experiences, supporting each other, talking among each other. Every person becomes becomes the teacher & the student.
Everyone contributes towards everyone’s understand and I’m always learning and wanting to try new things. It is absolutely brilliant!
It’s now Sunday evening, it’s been a very big weekend and now to share a personal of what has transpired over the past few days.
Recapping the week
This week has been interesting because for me, I’m shifting gears in relation of confidence and inner strength. This is what I’ve been working with thanks to David Allan’s HypnoJourney sessions at New Dimension Vitality in Fremantle. The past three weeks has seen much growth working in this group, as well as working with Amy and have been mind blown with the transformation. I’m looking forward to sharing it on Monday nights session.
I’ve begun working with LifeGrid Magazine and we’ve been making many great progresses and reaching milestones faster than we originally thought. Although, I haven’t even had the opportunity to look at my own business just yet as when I get home, I’m not wanting to look at another computer screen. Although, this means doing the graphics design for the expo, designing brochures and so forth.
Now, the thing that has transpired this week and is the reason for writing this, in terms of my own personal journey is very intriguing. Amy & I are making great progress, getting things moving forward, meetings scheduled to talk about what I’m doing at the expo, working with the magazine, making telephone calls, meeting people and looking at fears that are surfacing and recently advising that I’ve anchored myself well into the “now moment”.
What was of interest was that a person, a person whom claims to be a professional healer, a preacher of “new ways”, began throwing a temper tantrum because my priority is doing what’s right for my growth, my business, my career. It was thrown over something absolutely ridiculous and when it comes to business… There is etiquette, professionalism, customer service and respect. The years of working in customer service throughout my entire career, such as 5 star restaurants, providing service to the State’s Senior personnel, one tends to learn a thing or two about providing quality service.
When this business was confronted about their communications (a business that claims to believe in the morals of truth and working from the heart), what was received was something totally different. When confronted, their response was emotionally driven and even saw threats of violence made. Threats that were completely unwarranted as well. We all have bad days, we all make mistakes, we all have compassion. How many times have you sent a text message by accident and gone… Oh shit!?!?! How many times has someone misinterpreted written information? Let’s face it, text communications does have a high risk component with misinterpretation. So who cares, we confront it, we forgive it, we grow, we apologise and we learn.
The problem that was there was the fierce ego response, the threats of violence because because someone else spoke their mind. It became very obvious that the business owner does not “walk the talk”, a preacher that doesn’t follow nor do what they preach. Having said this, there is also another perspective, one for my own personal development. I gained a fair amount of insight when this happened. I see moments like these as an opportunity to grow, to develop, to speak my truth without fear and to stand in the strength of truth. I do find it rather rewarding to have this experience.
Great leaders will always Walk the Talk. They will show you, not tell you! – Steven North
Throughout the years from childhood and my twenties, had always been bullied and during the drug therapy years, the fear of confrontation because of the violent reaction in the brain that was triggered because of an emotional response. This experience saw great fear of the emotionally fuelled response that there were times I had to ask other people to write emails when I was struggling with them. One thing that I learned was that when we get an emotional trigger, do not ever respond immediately.
You do not ever need to respond and should not ever respond because the email will be there, the work will be there, everything will be there for later on. There’s no need to respond emotionally. It does take a lot of understanding of self when trying to take control of that split second where we choose to respond or breathe and it is also challenging, especially when one isn’t trained in managing emotions.
Having the opportunity to explore how far I’ve come and to stand up, be heard and speak up has been a major transformation for myself compared to what I’ve done in the past. In business & management, this skill set is extremely important. I’m still learning and exploring and one thing is that the way I respond in these types of situations is very important. The way that the other party responds is not my problem, we have no control over how someone responds. How they respond is ultimately determined by their level of understanding of themselves, their emotions, their perception and other variables that they’re exposed too. As long as I focus on my own stuff, there is nothing to worry about.
This experience that has happened isn’t just isolated to this business either. I’ve heard about and witnessed it happening to others, as well as experienced it from others. There are many businesses that incessantly claim to do all sorts of things and fail to do so. There are businesses that market that they are the best, that they have the next best thing and the fail to hit the mark. Heck, one business claimed to have the best steak sandwich in Perth and it wasn’t. False claims, false expectations, smoke & mirror, deception and lies…. Where’s the credibility gone?
One of the sessions with Amy through Jocelyn Joy Thomas said that the way we planned our life was done in a way so that we would learn then teach about it. This way, we ensure that we walk our talk. To also explore what it is that is being presented, is it just a moment of BS or is it a great learning opportunity for growth.
No matter what, take responsibility for your actions and in-actions. Take the opportunity to grow and learn. Denial, temper tantrums, creating drama, causing chaos and spreading rumours are all acts of the ego owning you. The human mind is dominating you and it is not the freedom of humanity that we are all searching for. Thus, if you’re a professional in the industry of Health & Wellness or Spirituality, you had better make sure you walk your talk otherwise, in today’s world. Your business will fail.
Each moment provides an opportunity for growth & development. Make the most of it and let that moment help you change the world around you. Always, Walk the Talk.
