GDPR Updates & Steven North
Just another important GDPR notification
No doubt you’ve been receiving a plethora of e-mails from companies notifying you of updates to privacy policies because of changes to the EU data protection laws. As I’ve sent crystals and sold music around the world, I too must do this and it has seriously been a nightmare trying to get my head around it.
As such, it has seen myself plagerise create a Privacy Policy so that I am transparent with how I collect data (the data that you have provided in the past to subscribe to this list, to attend the events or made purchases of products).
I’ve seen some dodgy practices happen over the years and have had my own information sold off by spamming companies so much so, I disabled the account. To me, doing such practices is not ethical. I can guarantee that I take your privacy and confidentiality seriously and won’t do something like that. I treat your privacy like my own and promise that I will never disclose, sell or give your personal information to anyone outside of the Steven North business.
All my correspondence with you is focused on what is happening, information on the Heart Activation Music, co-creations with others, important messages like that of Marlene Swetlishoff & Rebecca Dawson as seen in the past and a few products that I’m selling. The purpose of the Steven North newsletter is to be more informative and casual. With the exception of this. There’s always been the option to opt-out as well.
This new privacy policy automatically takes effect for all subscribers and/or customers of Steven North on 25 May 2018. So your continued use of the Steven North products/services from that date is subject to this.
I asked a question a few days ago regarding this topic to the Small Business Development Corporation WA in relation to receiving a request to delete financial records & information from an EU Citizen and the conflict under the Financial Management Act, Records Management Act & State Records Office (Western Australia). They provided a link to the Privacy business resource 21: Australian businesses and the EU General Data Protection Regulationpublished by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. This is for those interested in wanting to understand it from a business perspective in Australia.
Australia also had new mandatory breach reporting legislation that took effect on the 22nd of February 2018 and being a Health Professional, I have a legislative requirement to alert authorities should customer records be compromised. Therefore, your privacy and security of information is very important.
NOTE: Whilst you’ve already received dozens of emails about this GDPR… this is a required legal notice and it is really important that you have read and accepted all the documents above.
PS: I’ve got some very exciting news to share with everyone in the coming week (June Newsletter) so stay tuned.
Thank you very much for your time regarding this important topic.
