The Medication Regime
When it comes to the medical system, we give 100% of our trust to the system, we believe everything the medical experts tell us. Everyone is an expert in their field and no doubt about it as I too wouldn’t want someone with limited knowledge removing an appendix or giving a new heart as they’ve spent years and years reading books, writing assessments on treating various conditions and so forth that is based on other people’s research in the field.
I did this myself from the period of 1999 to 2010 with being treated for ADD/ADHD (turns out to be Pyrrole) and in 2003, began an even much bigger regime which saw me experiencing & filling thousands of dollars of scripts for heavy medication. I was required by law to have viles of blood taken out for thorough blood testing every few weeks or months for toxicity levels in the system. In truth, my life was like living in a mental straight jacket, suppression in the drug form, silent as a mouse and not a very healthy way to live. This regime saw excessive amounts of weight gained due to my own body system being filled with toxic chemicals. One could say that they were a walking chemical farm and of course, it had it’s negative side effects such as being unable to manage things as anger as it tended to result in an explosion of energy.
In fact, so that you can get an understanding of what I was put under, this is the list of medication that I was prescribed; – Dexamphetamine, Lithium, Lamictal, Risperdal, Effexor XR, Ritalin, Ritalin LA & Valium… These were taken ALL at the same time. This was my daily diet.
I believe that’s all of them as it’s all so grey at the moment because it was such a long time ago.
During my experience, there was also a SPECT scan carried out in 2003 in accordance with Daniel G. Amen’s ADD/ADHD classification scheme and according to the SPECT scans, I was diagnosed with Types 2, 3, 4 and possibly type 6 which is discussed in great detail and his medication treatment in his book titled Healing ADD which only covered 6 types of ADD/ADHD at the time of publication with the revised book now covering 7 types of ADD/ADHD.
What I experienced after the SPECT scans was an increase in medication scripts being given. I went from taking ONLY six tablets of Dexamphetamine a day to taking everything that is listed above and yes, I was taking both Dexamphetamine & Ritalin at the same time, the Ritalin was used to help the brain sleep because there were so many chemicals in my system, the brain would not stop running and sleep was 5 hours every 3rd day. At one stage, I stopped taking Dexamphetamine to trial Ritalin instead but being so used to taking so many pills, I took too many and ended up in hospital with an overdose and spent a number of hours with a series of drips flushing my system out. This wasn’t a way to live and it not only cost financially, it cost emotionally, mentally, physically and again… mentally!
The biggest questions that I wanted to know is why do doctors prescribe all these wonderful new age drugs without going through a thorough physical examination? Why do they not do a body weight, BMI, blood type, blood cell count or any other testing to ensure the right levels of chemicals can be processed by the system without destroying the physical vessel of the patient? This was why I began my venture researching into the mind as there truly had to be another way rather than taking 6 pills a day. Now, this path wasn’t the best as it literally saw all sorts of drama, violence and sadness and with all those chemicals creating reactions within the brain, one can understand the troubles that was faced in trying to function as a human.
What am I trying to get at in this article?
During the trials and tribulations that I had faced in June of 2015, I observed the local GP was very quick to write a script for Lexapro, which is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) and these drugs are dangerous and I’ve already been on them (Effexor XR)! Whilst the script found it’s way into the rubbish bin before I had left the clinic, I knew just how dangerous these drugs can be to the brain. There was no way I would go back to that regime ever again and these past few weeks has seen a friend of mine recently quit taking Lexapro and she is struggling heavily with the withdrawal symptoms.
Lexapro is a drug of choice when it comes to doctors that treat depression (in my days it was Prozac!) and the idea of SSRI’s is to provide a regular flow of serotonin levels to the brain in order to keep the mind stabilised, to remove the highs and lows of depression. Although, I did not see any scientific approach to writing a script for the dosage required of Lexapro. It is and has always been… ‘take x number a day’ and the patients follow the doctors advice. One would think that since the early days of being given Ritalin at the age of 8, that there would be major advancements in this field but alas… Take x number of pills a day!
Medicaldaily.com published an article on the dangers of a ‘single dose of an SSRI‘ can do to the brain within three hours and they completely change the architecture of the brain and watching a friend of mine go through major withdrawal symptoms (which based on the findings of other articles published, is estimated to continue on for months) as well as having experienced two rounds of withdrawal symptoms from prescribed drugs, this mental health regime is not helping anyone but the pharmaceutical companies.
In 2004, researchers discovered that the SSRI Lexapro completely changed the way the brain operated within the span of hours and the withdrawal symptoms are insane! Symptoms such as: Anxiety, Brain Zaps, Depression, Suicidal Thoughts, Weight Changes and the list continues on and these can be experienced over months or even years.
Not only do these magical drugs that cure depression destroy the brain but also damage the liver, the metabolic rate but may also include Hepatitis. In my own experience with the drug therapy regime, I went from a weight 69 kilograms (yes, that was my weight) to 130 kilograms over a few years. Although, I had quit in 2010, a channelled spirit guide advised me in 2014 that the chemicals were still in my system and I needed to do a complete detox. 4 years on… and I still had the chemicals in my system wrecking havoc with the brain!
Yet, the doctors are constantly prescribing these drugs in an effort to help with ‘mental health’ and yet, the destruction that these drugs are causing is out there. They cause permanent brain damage. The article on www.examiner.com (link to the left) states.
“Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, Seroxat, Lexapro, Seroxat, and Effexor are medications that lead to neurological damage by causing serotonin, a naturally-occuring hormone and neurotransmitter associated with positive mood, to hang around for longer than usual between brain and nerve cells. This excess, unused serotonin is oxidized by the body and turned into a neurotoxin, a substance that is harmful to these cells.
Use of SSRIs for 10 years or more destroys the serotonergic system, which has been observed in humans by doctors at Harvard University and other Ivy League institutions. The implications are that taking SSRIs long term causes neuro-degenrative disorders which can further add to depressive symptoms.
The damage caused by SSRIs doesn’t stop there. Serotonin works with other neurotransmitters, not in isolation, so when its levels drop because of damage caused by the meds, all the other neurotransmitter systems that interact with serotonin are affected, which can trigger suicidal behavior. Your hormonal system will also be negatively affected by changes to your serotonin levels, which is why SSRI antidepressants have a plethora of side-effects and withdrawal symptoms.
After continuous use, many SSRI medications eventually start to lower serotonin (and mood) levels, and therefore make patients feel worse. The “benefit” of SSRI’s decreases in many patients after long-term treatment, which doctors try and workaround by switching to another medication. However this is not always successful, leaving the patient with a damaged serotonergic system, impairing their appetite, sexual desire, heart health, and a mood levels.”
So the question that I’m asking now is why are there doctors so willingly to prescribe such dangerous drugs to patients and are going to cause them many other negative side effects such as these chemicals. In fact, these drugs should be outright banned illegally for they really have no place on this planet a part from destroying people.
It has taken myself years of work to regain and take control of the mind, to heal the brain and during that channelling session with the spirit guide, she stated this when we discussed the drug therapy regime… “In order to master the mind, what greater way to learn other than to experience it and do it”. This path has led me to writing the Heart Activation Music with my own Spirit Guide, Amy and this played a large role in my own healing experience as it helped me with pulling myself out of the depression that I was drowning in and brought the confirmation to my own self, through my own work, that there are definitely other ways to heal the mind rather than using drug therapy as the doctors are happy to prescribe.
If there’s one thing that I have learned… Our minds are so powerful that we can heal ourselves.
I’m going to throw a disclaimer in here and say that I’m not a medical expert, I’m not a doctor and I’m not going to recommend you to quit taking medication without any form of medical advice. The purpose of this article, whilst I’m no grammar expert, is to be educational and informative into my own belief system that there is no need for medication. Many people face struggles and through my own evolution and spiritual path, I found that there is no need for drugs as it only suppresses the mind, emotions and delays the need for doing the work many years later. We do not need to live in a mental straight jacket because society wants to do create diseases to label people or to achieve academic results. There are many other ways to cure oneself and I found my own way.
Another point that I want to make is that during my experience, I’ve never had a doctor tell me the negative side effects of these SSRI’s. They write a script and the client takes it to the pharmacy and no questions are asked. We really do give our trust away so easily.
